Announcement:
On January 10, 2009 (my 58th birthday) I was selected by the Republican Party of Norfolk
as their candidate for the Office of Commonwealth’s Attorney for the City of Norfolk, in a
special election to be held Tuesday March 10, 2009 (only a few days away). On Monday
afternoon, January 19, 2009, my supporters and I began walking door-to-door, to homes of
voters who live dangerously close to criminal street gang activity, through neighborhoods
and communities where gangbangers roam free and to the residences of elderly shut-ins
who act frightened to answer their doorbell. We’re reaching out to all Norfolk Civic
Leagues and we’re responding to every citizen’s deep concern over the biggest increase
in violent crimes in this city since 2006.
As your Commonwealth’s Attorney, I pledge to break the back of criminal street gangs; to
penetrate and eradicate the illegal drug mobs that afflict our schools and peddle death to
our children; to raise the profile of the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office and give you, the
voters of Norfolk, much more input and much better response time when crimes and
criminal acts affect you and your family, your neighbors and our beloved City of Norfolk.
To accomplish this task, today I need your help and contribution. On Tuesday, March 10,
